A different visual language

Not realism.
A living illustration.

The pack pushes Minecraft toward hand-painted fantasy. Broad color shapes, soft atmospheric depth, inked edges, and animated detail keep the world recognizable while giving it a new mood.

Every major environment is treated as its own scene. The Overworld stays bright and adventurous, the Nether feels hot and heavy, and the End becomes an otherworldly sky ocean.

The shader story

One pack.
Four distinct moods.

Light, weather, water, and atmosphere work together instead of sitting on top of the game as separate effects.

Bright painted water surrounded by forest and mountains

Painted water

Every shoreline gets a pulse.

Emerald and turquoise water carries painted highlights, bright sun glints, moving foam, breaker waves, shoreline wash, and ripples that react around the player.

A deep blue painted night sky with stars and a shooting star

Day and night

The sky behaves like a painting.

Soft cobalt daylight gives way to ink-blue nights, moving cloud forms, nebula shapes, stars, shooting stars, and moonlit haze across the horizon.

A player overlooking luminous End islands beneath a violet vortex

The End

A dimension built around the void.

The End becomes a luminous sea of clouds under a rotating vortex, with a black-hole light, lightning, long god rays, and islands suspended in violet space.

A vast smoky Nether cavern lit by molten lava

The Nether

Heat, smoke, and painted lava.

The latest beta gives the Nether its own smoky purple atmosphere, stylized terrain lighting, organic lava motion, lavafalls, and bright molten regions split by dark cracks.

Compatibility, honestly

Built for Iris.
Still in beta.

The current development setup uses Minecraft Java 1.21.11 with Iris 1.10.7 and Sodium 0.8.7. Exact supported builds will be retested and listed when the RuneFist release opens.

Geometry grass can still misbehave on some Iris and Sodium combinations. It remains optional while compatibility is refined.

The End

Look up.
The void looks back.

A rotating sky vortex, distant lightning, and a luminous cloud sea turn the End into the pack's most dramatic destination.

FAQ

Before
you play.

Khan's Stylized Shaders is an unofficial Minecraft Java shader pack. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. The planned release is for personal use and may not be redistributed.

Can I download it today?

Yes. Active members receive private releases through their RuneFist account library.

Will it be part of a RuneFist membership?

Yes. An active Iron Glove membership includes the complete shader library while the membership remains active.

Does it need OptiFine?

No. Khan's Stylized Shaders is built for Iris. Sodium is part of the current development setup, but it is not listed as a separate requirement for the shader pack.

Is it finished?

Not yet. Version 0.5.0 is a beta. The major visual systems are present, but performance, compatibility, and a few effects are still being refined.

Does Distant Horizons work?

Distant Horizons shader support is included. Because Iris, Sodium, and Distant Horizons move quickly, exact combinations will be documented and retested for each public release.
